Paula was diagnosed with cancer in August of 2017. She had been undergoing chemotherapy in Tampa, the cancer has moved to her chest bone and will require more intensive treatments than originally thought . Recently Paula had a minor setback as she contracted pneumonia and had to be hospitalized. During that hospitalization doctors discovered blood clots in her lungs and two lesions on her brain that are bleeding, which are resulting in a significant loss of vision. Paula is scheduled to start radiation in the near future for the lesions to control the bleeding. After that doctors will determine the best course of action. Anyone that knows Paula knows she is a fighter and can win this battle. It will be a rough road but we have every faith in her and God to get her back to health. Paula's insurance will run out in February, and with no current income other than her children's support it is very stressful. Paula has wonderful children who have been very supportive of her both mentally and financially. All with families of their own to support, it can be difficult to provide all of the financial assistance that is needed. She needs funding to try and continue her insurance, as well as daily needs, co-pays, gas to travel back and forth to treatments, etc. without having to stress anymore than she already does. Paula has been a lifelong resident of the community, she worked at the Shamrock Lounge for many years. She was employed at Big Lots until all this came about She has always had and still does have a kind heart and helps everyone she meets. Now would be a great time to help her ease her mind about things that are troubling her so she can concentrate on her treatments and recovery. Thank you to everyone and God Bless.
