For so many of us in the equestrian community, Paula has been a friend, teacher, and family member for many years. She’s been there for us as we learn and grow as riders, as we win and lose, welcome new horses and say good bye to beloved companions. Her huge heart and no-nonsense training have made us better riders, and her support has made her a lifelong friend. Right now, Paula needs our help as she begins a difficult journey. We’d love it if you could consider helping out
From Paula:
Hello friends! I have not posted on social media about what has been going on with me the last couple of weeks. I am not one to ask for help but this time I have to swallow my pride and ask.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer even though I had a hysterectomy 16 yrs ago. On Feb 9th I will go in for a 6-8 hour surgery to remove several masses in my abdomen and will be in Lutheran General for 10-15 days. After the surgery they will tell me what my next steps will be and chemo has already been mentioned.
I am not sure how long I will be out of work for, and have already planned to give up my apartment that I love and will stay with my family for the assistance I will need.
I cannot thank you enough for helping me to have just a little bit less to worry about. I would love to hear from folks as I recover from surgery and begin what ever the next chapter holds.
