Hi, My name is Santiago Restrepo and on Behalf of my brother Juan Camilo and his Wife Paula Andrea I'm organizing this fundraiser, currently Paula is pregnant and is fighting for her life because of COVID19.

They currently live in Colombia and all funds will go directly to any Medical expenses being incurred and post medical expenses

Just last month my older brother Camilo and my sister in law Paula Andrea were sharing the news that they were going to have a baby girl! my brother and her decided to name the baby, Celeste. She developed preeclampsia and had to visit the ER frequently. She was also suffering from high blood pressure and gestational diabetes.

However on April 25th during one of those visits she tested positive for Covid 19.

Ever since then things have gotten worse for her, the next couple days she could barely breath and a ventilator had to assist her. 3 days went by and the ventilation wasn't enough. My brother got a call from the hospital and was told his wife Paula had a 10% chance of survival.

The amazing medical team in Medellin, Colombia decided that given her unique case, she was a perfect candidate for the ECMO therapy (which is an artificial lung that allows her own lungs to rest and recuperate)

As of right now she is the first and only pregnant women going through this therapy in Colombia as described in the video.

During these difficult times she is going through, Paula's father and grandmother passed away from covid and she still has no idea. Her Mother is currently with ventilation and fighting for her life as well.

My brother Camilo and Paula Andrea already have a 13 year old daughter named Mariana. This has been devastating for her... currently our family in Canada is supporting my brother in colombia with expenses

We are praying for a miracle that Paula and Celeste come out of this situation victorious and healthy so they can reunite with my brother Camilo and my niece Mariana who are anxiously waiting to have them back home.

As I mentioned earlier we are looking to raise some funds for the ongoing therapy she is going through, and hopefully for any post recuperation expenses she will need to incur.

Hola, mi nombre es Santiago Restrepo y en nombre de mi hermano y su esposa Paula Andrea estoy organizando esta recaudación de fondos, actualmente Paula está embarazada y está luchando por su vida por el COVID19.

Actualmente viven en Colombia y todos los fondos se destinarán directamente a los gastos médicos en los que se incurra y a los gastos médicos posteriores.

El mes pasado mi hermano Camilo y mi cuñada Paula Andrea compartían la noticia de que iban a tener una niña !, mi hermano y ella decidieron llamar a la bebé, Celeste.

Ella desarrolló pre-eclampsia y tuvo que visitar la sala de emergencias con frecuencia, también sufría de presión arterial alta y diabetes gestacional. Sin embargo, el 25 de abril, durante una de esas visitas Paula dio positivo en Covid 19.

Desde entonces las cosas se han ido empeorando. Los siguientes días se le dificultaba mucho respirar y un ventilador tuvo que ayudarla, pasaron 3 días y la ventilación no era suficiente ... mi hermano recibió una llamada del hospital y le dijeron que Paula tenía un 10% de posibilidades de sobrevivir.

El increíble equipo médico de Medellín en Colombia decidió que, dado su caso único, era una candidata perfecta para la terapia ECMO (que es un pulmón artificial que permite que sus propios pulmones descansen y se recuperen).

En este momento, ella es la primera y única mujer embarazada que se somete a esta terapia en Colombia como se describe en el video.

Durante estos tiempos difíciles por los que atraviesa Paula y toda mi familia, el padre y la abuela de Paula han fallecido de covid y ella todavía no tiene idea. Su madre está actualmente con ventilación y luchando por su vida también.

Mi hermano Camilo y Paula Andrea tienen una hija de 13 años que se llama Mariana y esto ha sido devastador para ella...actualmente mi mamá y mi papá estan apoyando a mi hermano en colombia con los gastos.

Estamos orando por un milagro para que Paula y Celeste salgan victoriosas y sanas de esta situación, para poder reunirse con mi hermano Camilo y mi sobrina Mariana que esperan ansiosamente tenerlos de regreso a casa.

Estamos buscando recaudar algunos fondos para la terapia en curso y con suerte, para cualquier gasto posterior a la recuperación en el que deba incurrir.
