Paula Bounds - Home Repair after Storm Damage
Donation protected
Update (June 17): Friends and Neighbors stepped up in a BIG way with chainsaws, tractors, and LOTS of physical labor. Most of the debris has been cleared, but the trunks of 2 HUGH trees remain (one on the house and the other holding the one on the house from crushing through). Still waiting on the power company to move their power line from across the house. We don’t know when they might be able to replace the power pole that snapped.
a HUGE thanks to everyone who has helped both physically and financially.

Hi, my name is Leslie Hebert, and I am raising funds for my amazing neighbor, Paula Bounds.
The whole time my kids were growing up, we had the most amazing neighbor who became family - Ms. Bettye Miller Bounds. Ms. Bettye passed away a few years ago, and her daughter moved back into the home she grew up in. Paula works tirelessly and spends every penny she earns to make improvements to her childhood home. Unfortunately, because of the house’s age, recently she lost her insurance.
This morning, knowing that storms were coming through, Paula got up extra early so she could get to work before things got bad. She’s just that way … always planning ahead. She couldn’t have known that trees would damage what she’s worked so hard for.
I am so thankful that she wasn’t home because she could have been seriously injured. Several trees fell on and around her home. While she has no personal injuries, her home’s physical structure suffered extensively.
The financial devastation is more than she can emotionally handle right now. My family will be stepping up to do everything we can to help, and we have some pretty amazing neighbors that I know will step up as well. If you are able to help contribute financially, I know it will be a tremendous blessing to her.
I posted this on my Facebook and was contacted by another friend about setting up this GoFundMe.
