Paula and Jeff Gonzales

This is a fundraiser for my sister, Paula, her husband, Jeff, and their kids, Kylah and Emslee.

 

On February 1st, Paula woke up to find Jeff unresponsive. Jeff was flown from Lamar to University Hospital in Denver in septic shock, diabetic ketoacidosis, and sick with COVID. He was in ICU for over a week. We were very worried he might not make it. He is out of ICU and off the ventilator, but his kidneys are not working well (he's on dialysis) and his heart is weak. We don't know how much longer he will be in the hospital, and he will have to go to a rehab facility when he does get out.

 

Jeff is fighting, but Paula is left alone in Lamar with the kids and without Jeff's help or income. She hasn't even been able to see him yet because of COVID. Their hospital bills are going to be outrageous, and we don't know when Jeff will be able to work again, if ever.
