Help Us Stay Housed – A Family in Crisis
Hi, my name is Paula Bass , and I never thought I’d be here asking for help — but we are out of
options.
Right before Christmas, my husband Brian, our daughter Emma, and I moved back home. We were homesick but hopeful. We brought all our belongings, a truck, and even a car we managed to buy at an auction. We believed we could find work and rebuild our life.
It hasn't been easy.
I found a waitressing job after a month, though I was often told I was "too old" — they wanted younger workers. Brian has applied to over 100 jobs and only recently got hired. Just days later, our only car broke down. Now we’re catching rides and walking miles to get to work. Brian even walked 5 miles to make his shift.
We're surviving on my tips and trying to keep up with rent and bills, but it’s not enough. Some days we eat only one meal. We are trying — so hard — but we're falling behind.
Our landlord is demanding $2,600 by Monday morning, or he will shut off our power and force us to move. We have no savings left, no car, no family who can help, and no place to go. Brian hasn’t even received his first paycheck yet.
This is our last resort. We need help to keep a roof over our heads, the lights on, and to make it to the next paycheck so we can get back on our feet.
If you can spare even $5, it would mean everything to us. If you can’t give, please share this with others or send a prayer our way. We’re deeply grateful for any kindness you can show.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With hope and gratitude,
Brian and Paula
