Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
We are reaching out with humble hearts to ask for your support.
Paul has always been a kind, generous, hardworking, and resilient person, who is most happy when people are laughing around him. It is incredibly difficult to see him face these obstacles, but as per usual, he remains strong and hasn't lost his sense of humor. With your help, we can ease the financial burden and allow him to focus fully on healing and reclaiming his quality of life.
On January 9th, Paul required an emergency spinal surgery due to a dangerous condition called rapid degenerative cervical myelopathy—a condition that caused his C5 disc to degenerate and break over the course of just a few weeks. Due to the extreme nature of this disease, significant damage was done to his spinal cord affecting his entire central nervous system. Immediately prior to surgery, he lost the ability to walk, use his hands, and became incontinent.
The lengthy, high-risk surgery was a critical step to prevent any further damage, but the road to recovery is long and challenging with only a 40-50% full recovery rate after 12 months.
2024 was already a difficult year for Paul, financially, and starting 2025 with this event has put him into a situation that will be very hard to get out of. That is why we need your love.
Your generosity will help cover:
● Medical Bills: Ongoing expenses from the surgery, follow-up appointments, and rehabilitation.
● Essential Equipment: Mobility aids, adaptive devices, and home modifications to support his recovery, much of which insurance does not cover.
● Caretaking Support: Professional care and assistance to ensure he receives the attention he needs during this critical time.
● Transportation to and from Physical Therapy: Uber or Lyft.
● Rent, Food, Utility Bills: Paul will be off work for an extended period of time.
● Outside Treatment: Once out of the hospital, insurance will only cover outpatient therapy once a week, this is not enough to regain mobility in a reasonable amount of time, so we will be searching for additional out-of-pocket facilities that will allow him to continue working and healing on top of what insurance will cover.
Any amount you can contribute—no matter how small—will make a meaningful difference. Sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to us and will help spread the word to a wider base.
Thank you for your compassion, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Together, we can help Paul get back on his feet and live a fulfilling life once again.
With gratitude,
