Paul W. Campbell - End-of-Life Expenses

Paul Campbell, a Neighborhood Volunteer, and his wife need your help with end-of-life expenses.

On March 16, 2024, Paul W. Campbell passed away from complications following a short illness. His wife, Jan, and their dog, Gracie, remain and are struggling. Jan has reached out for help as she has no other immediate family.

Most people are not fully prepared for the passing of a loved one, and in this case, Paul was Jan’s only remaining family member, and she was not completely ready.

She is overwhelmed with expenses resulting from Paul’s illness and death. All this follows previous costs for cancer diagnoses and chemotherapy for both Paul and Jan. Their savings account has been eaten away by sickness and the resulting hospitalizations, treatments, and now end-of-life expenses.

Paul never met a stranger. He was the affable neighbor who loved his wife, his dog, and the community of Ethan’s Glen. He worked tirelessly in the neighborhood and on the HOA board until he was initially hospitalized last November.

Paul served on the board for more than 15 years, having lived in the community for over 22 years. A long-time employee of Verizon, he retired in 2021. Paul was an only child of his mother and father, a retired Colonel in the US Air Force. The small family moved often with Paul spending most of his early years in Florida. He relocated to Texas attending Texas State University and finally made Houston home.

Jan met Paul in Austin in 1980. Paul convinced Jan to go out with him after smooth-talking her to hold an apartment for him to rent. The rest, as they say, is history.
