My name is Debbie Tavernier.

On March 28th my son Paul developed a severe GI bleed. After hemorrhaging and being rushed to the hospital it was found that surgery was needed...but the hospital he was in couldn't perform it. He was transferred, tests were run, surgery was scheduled and performed. On April 1st after surgery...he was dealing with vision issues...Paul suddenly went blind suffering Ischemic optic neuropathy. Basically an eye stroke in both eyes. After several hospitalizations, doctor appointments and tests, Paul's health improved. However, his vision has not returned. After several hospital stays and as a result of the vision loss, Paul's employment was terminated. Paul has applied for disability but he has yet to receive this much-needed help.

Medical bills, hospital and doctor bills are mounting. The household monthly bills are mounting. Though Leticia has returned to work their income has been drastically reduced.
