Paul Riat is a man who shows up for the St. Louis Startup Community, and after he was struck by a speeding truck on Thursday, November 7th, it's time for St. Louis to show up for him.

While on his way to Venture Café St. Louis, Paul was hit by a truck running a red light. Breaking every rib and shattering his right leg, Paul is lucky to be alive. Now, he starts the long journey of recovery.

For many years, Paul has been a staple of the local Startup Community, often serving as the loudest voice on behalf of early stage innovation. He has built a business around elevating the ideas of the rising St. Louis innovator, even when it wasn't always the most profitable approach. Paul believes wholeheartedly in the St. Louis entrepreneurial community and this is a moment for us to return the favor.

Support Paul's Recovery

Emily Hemingway and Erik Lutenegger are hosting this GoFundMe to support our friend in what is going to be a very challenging year. Please help us in donating $20, $50, $100, or more to cover some of the medical bills and recovery expenses that Paul will likely face in the coming months.

We are also coordinating a "meal train" for Paul when he returns from the hospital and you can contact Emily to support the effort. Thank you for joining in the effort to show up for Paul when he needs it most!
