Paul Pieken has passed. Son needs critical help.

Donation protected
On, October 2, 2023. Paul W. Pieken was taking his severely non-verbal autistic son, Paulie to the store as he does almost every night. While driving to the store, Paul's vehicle veered off the road and struck a telephone pole. We do not know what was the cause of the accident. Paulie suffered some minor scratches, however, when emergency responders showed up to the scene, Paul had no pulse. CPR was administered on the scene, a pulse returned and was lost again. At the hospital his pulse was restored and he was placed in the cardiac care unit. While there, Paul was monitored and placed into cardiac protocol for several days.

Unfortunately, Paul remained non-responsive to all test and stimuli. Paul passed away on October 6, 2023. At the time of his passing, Paul participated in the organ donation process and it is with hope that through Paul's generosity someone has benefited from his gifts.

Paulie is now left without any parents or siblings. His nearest relative is his Aunt Vicki. Paulie's mother, Paul's wife Dolores (Vicki's sister), passed away in January of 2023 after a long bout with multiple ailments. Paulie requires 24 hour care as his degree of disability is severe. Unfortunately, at the time of Paul's passing he left no arrangements for Paulie's care nor any documents that would facilitate access to any of Paul's assets, which is desperately needed immediately.

We have been trying every day and night since the notification of Paul's accident to piece together Paulie's care. Everything from picking up Paulie from the hospital, to locating his case workers, 24 hour a day care, meals, doctors, medications, etc. At the time of Paul's passing, there was an issue with Paulie's benefits and he has temporarily lost them. Paul was working on the issue at the time of his passing.

The cost to resolve all ongoing issues and to continue Paulie's 24 hour care has been overwhelming and is unsustainable for those family members working on Paulie's behalf. We decided to start this page for Paulie with the hope that those who know Paul and/or Paulie might be able to assist. If you can help, your assistance is greatly appreciated. 100% of what is collected will be used for Paulie.

Please keep Paul and Paulie in your thoughts and prayers. Please pass this GoFundMe campaign link to your social media and contacts.
