Paul Perry - Road to Recovery ❤️

Hi everyone - it’s Jenna & I’m fundraising for my best friend - my dad ❤️

As many of you know, my dad (Paul Perry) suffered from a stroke on July 23, 2022. When the stroke occurred he was in a Grand Rapids (MI) with my mom (Kathy) to attend their nephew’s wedding - when he started experiencing symptoms. He was taken to the Spectrum Health hospital emergency room where he was immediately admitted - receiving confirmation of the stroke diagnosis later that evening. Over the course of the next 12 hours, Paul’s symptoms worsened - resulting in paralysis of his right arm and leg. To say this was one of the scariest moments of our lives would be an understatement.

In the week that has followed Paul was very fortunate to be accepted as a candidate for the Mary Free Bed center for intensive inpatient rehabilitation (also in Grand Rapids) where they expect his stay to last between 10-14 additional days before he can come home. By the grace of god, his doctors are hopeful he will make a full recovery - but he will have a long road of recovery ahead. He is determined to chase his grandchildren around again and he is working so hard to regain his strength and mobility.

I am doing This fundraiser will help to alleviate Paul & Kathys’s medical expenses, travel costs & lodging too/from Grand Rapids for Kathy (who is having to commute & continue working), any medical equipment Paul may need once he is allowed home & to help with a few months of living expenses as Paul and Kathy are both business owners who are working with limited capacity.

Anyone that knows my dad - knows that he has the biggest heart in the world & that he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.
