On Friday 9th May, our mate Pauly lost his battle with a rare and aggressive form of bowel cancer claiming his life in just 8 short weeks and placing a significant financial strain on his family. He leaves behind his beautiful wife and high school sweetheart, Sandra who is tragically fighting her own stage 4 terminal battle with cancer.

Pauly was a cherished and valued member of our mining family whose likeable presence made the hard days easier. His sense of humour and shenanigans will be sorely missed. He was a Shovelie, a bus buddy, a trainer/assessor, an avid dragon fruit grower, a Husband, a Father, a Poppy, a golfing mate, a fishing mate and soooo much more ! He treated everyone the same… unless you towed a caravan

Sandra now faces the unimaginably daunting task of navigating her own journey through cancer without her soul mate.
