My name is Roy Leah and I was a very close friend of the late Paul Nestor (Nessie). Nessie sadly passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, 12th January with his beautiful wife Joanne by his side. Nessie and Joanne had been together for 14 years and married for 8 years. As many of you will know, Nessie suffered for a long time with diabetes, which caused him various complications. His health then deteriorated further in 2018 with kidney and heart failure. He was no longer able to work as he went through kidney dialysis on a regular basis. At around the same time, his wife Joanne was diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully, Joanne has recovered but Nessie's illnesses progressively got worse. As you can imagine they have had many years of just coping and getting by.

Nessie will be fondly remembered for his remarkable football legacy and his vibrant personality, always full of stories to share, with countless others eager to share theirs about him.
