Paul Nelson's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On October 10th, Paul Nelson fell over thirty feet from the roof of his home while doing repairs. His wife Tammy found him on the ground, where he kept going in and out of consciousness. The Portsmouth fire department took him to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is now currently in the ICU. He has suffered extensive injuries, such as broken ribs, back, pelvis, punctured lung, internal bleeding, and more being discovered as time goes on. Paul is a big family man, a hard worker, a true friend to all, and a free spirit.
As his daughter Carrigan battles a rare and aggressive form of cancer and his wife battles MS, he works hard to support his family as a contractor as he is the only one who brings in income. Given the severity of his injuries and the uncertainty of when he will be able to work again, the Nelsons need our community more than ever to help with medical bills.
The Nelsons are forever helping others, and now they need some assistance to get through this challenging time. Let’s give back and show them what the community can do. Every dollar counts.
Please continue to pray for Paul’s road to recovery.

Update from Paul's daughter: Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, positive thoughts and donations. It is so comforting to know you all are here for our family during this incredibly difficult time. I will start with the negatives first and end with the positives. My dad has 10 broken ribs, one lung is punctured, and the other one is torn. He has broken about half of his back, and his pelvis is completely shattered. He has severe abdominal bloating as well. His team is still trying to pinpoint all of his injuries. His nurse inserted an NG tube to help alleviate his severe abdomen bloating (It helps drain his gas build-up and stomach contents). The good news is that his chest tube has been removed! We are celebrating every small victory. He will be having surgery this Friday for his pelvis. He may need an external rod to be placed. He is staying incredibly strong through all of this. He will be in the ICU for weeks to a month, and we have a long journey ahead of us. Please continue praying and keeping our family in your thoughts. Thank you all so much. ❤️
