My name is Jordan A. Wicks. My family and I are raising money to set up a scholarship fund in honor of our late grandfather Paul R. Lyons. Paul was the Albany High School Men’s Varsity Basketball Coach for 31 years. During this time he had 515 wins, 9 Section 2 Championships, and 2 NYSPHSAA Regional Championships. He was also a member of the NYS Basketball Hall of Fame. I had always realized the significant impact my grandfather had on my life but it wasn't until his passing I realized the tremendous impact he had on so many others beyond just basketball. He was a coach, mentor, husband, father, grandfather and friend. We want to honor Paul's legacy and continue making an impact like he did, by establishing a scholarship to be awarded to an Albany High School Senior athlete each year. Please help us with the kickstart of this scholarship. We plan to expand in the upcoming years to host an annual fundraiser in Coach's honor.
