As many of you may already be aware, my former husband, Paul Whitley, passed away suddenly on 11th June.

We were all together at Download Festival: Paul, our daughter Caitlyn, Scott (my fiancé) and me (Emi). We travelled there on Wednesday, got set up and spent the rest of the day getting organised and looking forward to what was meant to be an unforgettable weekend.

Paul spent the day with Caitlyn and, after the journey and setting everything up, we were all tired and decided to have an early night before the weekend ahead.

The following morning, when Paul seemed to be having a lie in, Caitlyn went to wake her dad. Paul had been sleeping in a small tent on his own and, tragically, she found that he had passed away.

I am setting up this GoFundMe to support our daughter, Caitlyn, aged 19, with the unexpected costs of arranging her dad’s funeral.

As Paul’s next of kin, she is now facing not only an unimaginable loss but also the financial pressure of arranging a funeral at such a young age. Paul’s mum, Ann, and brother, Ian, are also grieving and are not in a position to meet these costs themselves.

We want to be able to give Paul the send-off he deserves and take some of that burden away from Caitlyn during this incredibly difficult time.

At the family’s request, flowers at the funeral will be restricted to immediate family only. For anyone who would still like to make a gesture, there will be a nominated charity or the option to support through this GoFundMe.
