Paul Jasinski -New Lung- Go Fund Me
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Heather Sebahar, a close friend of Paul and Paulina, along with their wonderful son Frank.
If you are lucky enough to know Paul and Paulina, you know they are 2 of the hardest working people out there! Paul owns a local Painting business. Paulina has been a Nail Technician in the Glen Ellyn area for over 20 years, is committed to her craft, and has built a strong clientele and solid friendships in our community. Paul and Paulina are also loving parents to their son Frank who is a very active and athletic kiddo.
Exactly 5 years ago, Paul was diagnosed with COPD. There is no family history of this illness, which led to lots of research and stress in making some key decisions for Paul's health. Over the last few years, there have been many tests, appointments with specialists, medicines, and anxiety for the whole family. With Paul's health declining, he was put on the Lung Transplant list as a candidate. Paul and Paulina started looking into all that is entailed in the transplant process, including risks, finances, post-op plans, etc............and as you can imagine, terrifying information was being thrown at them. The transplant process is lengthy and even if a donor match is found, there are many tests and doctor appointments that have to be completed to make a final decision on this surgery. During this waiting period, Paul was unable to work and Paulina is doing her best to book as many clients as she can. She is balancing being a mom for Frank's busy school and sports schedule and caring for Paul simultaneously.
So the good news!- Last week Paul got a call in the middle of the night, and a donor match was on its way. They had to get packed and to the hospital right away to prep Paul in hopes of a new lung. Happy to say that 1 week ago, Paul endured an overnight/ long surgery and has a new lung! Paulina visited often. He came home just this week but has a long journey ahead.
Paul and Paulina NEVER ask for anything! So this is definitely out of their comfort zone. However, with all the medical bills, prior medical appointment costs, new appointments coming, and lack of employment, this will for sure take a toll. We are hoping to be able to support them with some finances for medical bills, groceries, day-to-day needs, and lack of employment for them both as they move into this next chapter while Paul heals.
Please consider supporting Paul, Paulina, and Frank as they celebrate Paul's new life opportunity. If we can help eliminate even a little stress, it will be so worth it for them.
