Hi, my name is Wayne Eberle. I have been a lifelong friend of my best friend Paul Giacino for 44 of Pauls 57 years. I'm saddened beyond words of Paul's passing and wanted to do something for my friend and his wife, Bonnie, who together went though a life challenge that so many others unfortunately have gone through. A challenge that is hard to just sit by and watch without feeling the need to help. Below is a summary of Paul's battle and I would just like to say "thank you" to anyone for any help they can provide Bonnie with at this difficult time in her life.

Paul Vincent Giacino lost his courageous 3 year battle with cancer on December 23,2023 with his wife Bonnie by his side. Paul, as described so appropriately by his wife of 22 years, was “a mountain of a man”. Paul was the type of guy who took life in stride and a man of few words, but when you got him talking you could count on a chuckle from either him or you. His chuckle could make anyone smile especially when it was accompanied by his familiar grin.

Paul worked tirelessly to achieve a lifelong goal of owning his own farm which came true in 2020. Paul named the farm Heaven Sent Farm with no idea what the future would have in store. Shortly after closing on the farm Paul was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. Instead of asking the question why me Paul took cancer head on never once considered the prospect of giving up. Anyone who knows Paul can attest to his personality of not wanting to burden anyone with his obstacles in life, instead, just taking the attitude of I’m going to beat this and life will go on as normal.

Unfortunately life did not go on as normal. There were doctors visits, treatments, tests, scans, hospital stays and months and months of unimaginable pain. Paul kept this all to himself and Bonnie as to not burden any of his family or friends with his health issues. Bonnie unselfishly was by Paul’s side every step of the way protecting and advocating for him in ways that would make a grizzly bear sow seem docile. This love and devotion was without question or reservation on Bonnie's part reassuring Paul of the special bond he and Bonnie had.

Paul’s final wish was to have his ashes placed in 3 places on his “Heaven Sent Farm” so he could enjoy the fruits of his labor for eternity.

Fighting an aggressive disease like cancer takes a financial toll which at the time is not a concern or even a question, however when the fight ends the realization of how substantial a financial burden the fight was.

A go fund me page has been set up to help Bonnie alleviate some of this financial burden and to help her keep Paul's dream alive. Thank you again for any help you can provide.
