Paul “Fitz” Fitzpatrick Memorial Bench

Hi,

My name is Shelby. My dad, Paul Micheal Fitzpatrick or “Fitz” as most commonly known through out the community, passed away in July of 2020 on his beloved motorcycle. The loss of our dad was devastating and a heart break that can not be truly described. I knew because of how much he was loved and his larger than life attitude he needed a very special memorial. I worked with a company who not only took everything I wanted to incorporate and do so beautifully, but also created a sacred place for people who loved and cared for my dad to go and sit, watch the sunset and talk to him. So, we designed a bench instead. The bench took me about a year to design, a lot of time and tears went into making his memorial bench. Unfortunately this past weekend the memorial bench was vandalized. We are unaware of any details as no one has come forward with any information. There were no cameras in the area, and other than tire tracks we have very limited information. This memorial bench was loved and used by many of my dads friends and family. My family is completely heart broken over the loss of his bench and would like to create a place where people who want to donate to assist us in having it rebuilt, can do so via this GoFundMe.

I know my Dad was cared for and loved by many. Please do not feel any obligation but I have had numerous people reach out wanting to know where and how to donate. We understand some people want to help as a way of honoring our Dad and absolutely respect that. Thank you! But Again, no obligation at all, know that any donation sent is appreciated beyond measure.

The amount requested is the new estimate I received from the monument company (who is being extremely gracious and working with us to get this rebuilt.) Please feel free to reach out to me with any information, question, or concerns.

Again, the amount of love shown has been overwhelming but very appreciated. I am reminded daily that even though there are people in this world that are cruel, there are always people who aren’t. And for that I am grateful.
