(Here are the details to the two gatherings to celebrate Paul- both in San Diego 10/13, and San Francisco 10/26):
If you knew Paul Buchtel, even one day, we have something in common. When Paul entered the room, and made eye contact with you, the biggest smile came across his face. That smile was so expressive and infectious and it was just for you. It might be saying, “I am remembering the last time I saw you,” or “we have secrets we aren’t talking about here," or “you’re not still mad at me”. In that smile was your shared history teeming with his irrepressible joy. You were probably laughing before he reached you. Paul made you feel…special.
I miss that smile.
Paul passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. Colleen, his wife, and companion of 30 years is starting a path forward from this devastating loss. This fundraiser will be crucial in supporting both his end-of-life expenses as well as helping Colleen’s recovery and journey forward.
