Paul and Rodah Mbandi are longtime Christian friends of many in SE Wisconsin and NE Illinois. We've known them since they moved to the Chicagoland area where Paul was a student at Trinity Seminary. They and their family are now facing both physical and financial trials where they live in Nairobi Kenya as COVID-19 has impacted their family and they need your help to meet their medical bills.

Paul is the executive director of Missions Afield Leadership Development Africa (MALDA). MALDA trains rural and urban pastors and church leaders through seminars in the areas of Biblical and theological education, expository preaching, leadership development and resource management.

Both Paul, Rodah and 2 of their 3 adult sons, John and Alex have recently contracted COVID-19. While Paul and John have recovered at home, both Rodah and Alex are still in the hospital. Rodah was admitted on July 21st and spent some time in the ICU and HDU (High Dependency Unit) but was recently moved to a regular room in the hospital. On August 7th Alex was admitted with COVID-19. Both Rodah and Alex are improving but there is still no definitive date for their discharge. The Mbandis' health insurance does not cover COVID-19 treatment and a payment plan is not an option for the hospital so medical bills are increasing every day and are insurmountable without your help. As strange as it may sound, all medical bills must be paid in full before Rodah and Alex can leave the hospital.

The Mbandi's have used money from their emergency fund and have received some help from Kenyan friends to make payments to the hospital, but it isn't nearly enough and they are faithfully praying that God would provide help for the financial side of this trial. Please pray for a full recovery with no lasting COVID-19 side effects. We encourage you to give as you are able to help our brother and sister in Christ.
