Paul and Gemma's IVF Journey

Well here goes.. I've always been a private person and never in all my life have I ever thought I would be writing a post regarding this, but due to the challenges my fiancé and I have faced over our journey to start a family of our own this may be our last chance.

Back in 2021 after many failed attempts to conceive we went to the NHS for help. That was the start of many tests which finally gave us results that would leave us devastated. Unfortunately I have been diagnosed with low sperm mobility and dysfunction. This means our chances of having a child naturally are very slim.

From this point we jumped through every hoop to get put on the IVF list on the NHS. On the NHS though there is a ticking clock where once my fiancé turned 40 no help would be offered. Time kept ticking on but we had hope. Then we had more news that would destroy us once again. The NHS had approved funding but they had not sent the referral to the fertility clinic in time, which means funding would be withdrawn as my fiancé was days away from turning 40.

Our only hope is now to go private which will cost us between £10,000 - £15,000.

This is far out of our comfort zone and also very scary for us to do but we have decided to create a go fund me page to raise the funds needed to hopefully help create our dreams of becoming parents.
