Paul Allen Thomas

Hi,

As many of you know my brother Paul received a kidney transplant 15 years ago. His college friend Marty Peterson donated his kidney. Thanks to him, Paul was able to see his kids Brett & Dylan grow up, get married and have children of their own.

Unfortunately Paul’s body rejected the kidney transplant about 5 years ago. He has been traveling 3 times a week to the hospital for dialysis.

Mid October Paul was admitted to Abbot Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis with an infection on his spinal chord. He seemed to be on the road to recovery until last week. We made plans to visit him on Thanksgiving. He did not recognize us and was fading in and out of consciousness. Doctors believe he suffered a heart attack and stroke sometime last week.

He has suffered brain damage and is clearly suffering. Arrangements are being made for hospice care.

I am setting up a go fund me page to help with his son’s travel costs and the costs associated with hospice care.

The family feels very blessed to have had 57 years with this amazing son, husband, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
