Hello friends of Chris Jameson and all animal lovers out there!

We are reaching out to you today because we have started a GoFundMe for our dear friend Chris' cat, Patxitxi.  If you know Chris, he’s all about “the kids.” Flanked by Kona, the cool and sophisticated foxy pup, and Patxitxi, his tiny sassy mischievous cat – this is Chris’ family.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Three months ago Patxitxi was diagnosed with cancer. What started as a small unnoticeable lump on the bridge of her nose has grown into an expensive battle to fight a sarcoma. 

After going through more tests and consultations, Chris decided to move forward with a surgery to remove the sarcoma. Over the last several weeks, we have all seen the fear and sadness in Chris’ eyes as helping a loved one fight cancer is not new for him.  

The surgery went well! However, the next step (which is where we are now) is for Patxitxi to have 18 radiation treatments over four weeks. If she completes all the treatments, her prognosis looks good.



The Costs

We all know the cost a traditional veterinary bill can be for our four-legged family members. A simple check-up, or minor procedure can launch your bill to one to two thousand dollars. The cost of the surgery and the radiation treatments during this difficult time are tremendous. And we, Chris’ friends, are writing to his community and the community of animal lovers to see if even through the smallest of donations you would consider contributing to offset an estimated $15,000 in medical costs. 

The Backstory

Patxitxi adopted Chris while he was doing conservation work in Limbé, Cameroon in 2011. It was one early evening at a beach outside of town during a beautiful African sunset, when baby Patxitxi, a tiny feral black kitten, approached Chris, ignoring all of the other people he was with and coming straight to him.  They’ve been together ever since and adopted Kona in to their family, another rescue, one month later.
