Patty Torres is one of our dear designers here at JBI. If you have not met Patty, I can tell you, she is not as quiet as you think she is! She has so much sarcasm, a weird sense of humor, and a love for murder podcasts. Yep. Besides her dorkiness, she is a strong, committed space-planner and designer, and only keeps growing professionally since day one at JBI.
More than anything, Patty has a strong dedication to her family. For the past months, she has been the support system to her mom and dad. Just as they nurtured and cared for her from birth to adulthood, she is now faced with taking care of them at their most needed time. Her dad was diagnosed last year with Stage 4 metastasize prostate cancer and is fighting as strong as he can with Patty by his side. In the past couple of weeks, Patty was also by her mom’s side facing the fact that she might have to lose her leg. After a procedure that made the blood circulation worse on her mom’s foot, she was not able to get enough blood flow below her ankle. Last week, her mom had to undergo surgery for the amputation of her leg. The surgery went well, but now, the road to recovery starts.
The money raised might be used in different ways, however Patty needs it. She will require some time off to be with her mom but will also need to provide for her family. This will give Patty some peace of mind, knowing she can take time off and not have to stress about finances during this trying period. Besides that, any amount could be used for medical coverage as well.
I appreciate your time in reading this, for considering sharing this and for donating to a fellow JBI coworker.
