Karl lost the love of his life, Patty, on April 2nd, 2021. Prior to her untimely death, Karl and Patty spent 16 wonderful years together. They were married for three and a half of those years. She was known for her love of shopping, seeing the world, and attending concerts. Her sister, Holly, had an extraordinary place in her heart. She also had a soft spot for all animals, especially her cats and dogs.
Although the story of Patty and Karl is one of immense love, it is also one of heartbreaking sorrow. Their family is no stranger to untimely passings. In 2015, the couple prepared to welcome their daughter, Sarah, into their world. Sadly, they never got to know her as she passed at birth. Patty also lost her adoptive mother and Karl lost his father within the past couple of years.
Patty and Karl always put family first. While Patty and Karl were caring day and night for Patty's ill family, their resources ran thin. The couple chose to placed their two children, Karly and Keith, for adoption when hardship struck. When Karl and Patty got pregnant again, they had little financial means to provide for their growing child. They put their child’s needs in front of their own. Faced with meager resources, the couple selflessly placed their son, Karson, for adoption and found him a loving family to care for and provide for him. Although they moved far away from their son, who was born and is being raised in Pennsylvania, they never let the distance of a 16 hour drive keep them from traveling back to him for visits. When Karl’s mother struggled with her health, the couple uprooted their life in Pennsylvania without hesitation. They moved into their mother’s house in Missouri to care for her. Together they cared for her until she passed from cancer in the middle of the COVID pandemic in 2020. Love allowed them to care of their family the best they could. They nurtured the relationships they could and gave their children better lives than they could offer, living with so much loss and suffering.
Together, Patty and Karl leaned on each other, weathering each loss in the family. A month ago, Patty found a lump in her breast. She was soon hospitalized for late-stage breast cancer and given a few weeks to live. After more testing, her life expectancy dropped to mere days as doctors found the cancer already spread to her bones and brain. On April 2nd, 2021, Karl lost his best friend and his lifeline in a time of so much loss and pain. She was only 34 years old.
Please help Karl give Patty a funeral befitting the woman that she was: a loving wife, strong mother, doting daughter, and loyal friend. Any amount of money you can donate will be put towards Patty’s funeral expenses.
