Whoa, we're half-way there.
Whoa, livin' on a prayer.
Take my hand and we'll make it. I swear.
Whoa, livin' on a prayer.
This is the chorus of one of Patty's favorite songs, and it's perfect for her. She loves all things 80/ 90s (she's a walking trivia game!), and she also has a strong faith and believes strongly in the power of prayer.

Patty's Story
For the last few months, Patty has been getting increasingly sick. She's been going to doctor's appointments and having many tests done. As her sickness was getting worse, her and her family were getting increasingly frustrated. Patty kept on with her daily routine, but eventually she got to the point where she was having to leave work early every day. A job she loves. Then, she wasn't able to go to work at all. She couldn't do any of her daily activities. She was miserable, and frustrated, but never lost her positive spirit.
Things got so bad Patty had to go to the emergency room, where she was misdiagnosed with stomach ulcers. She was sent back home, but nothing got better. So back to the emergency room she went. She was then scheduled for a busy week of more scans and tests. Patty, her family, and her doctors were all determined to find what was wrong. She needed to get better.
On Wednesday, April 18, Patty went in for a PET scan. One of several tests scheduled that week. The doctors were trying everything. It was during this scan, they discovered Patty has stage 4 cancer.
Throughout this long journey, and even upon finding out her diagnosis, Patty has not lost her positive attitude. She is determined to beat this.

About Patty
Whenever you ask anyone about Patty, one of the first things they might say about her is her positive, upbeat personality. She is a bright light in any room she walks into. She is loved by many, and if you meet her for even 5 minutes, it's easy to see why. She is extremely family oriented, and once you become friends with Patty, you become a part of her family. They are all welcoming, loving, and their constant sense of humor always has you in a good mood.
Patty is passionate about everything she does. She has a strong faith and dedicates her spare time to teaching others about the Bible. She's rescued several dogs, and even when she can't take in any dogs, she always tries to find good loving homes for them.
Even her job involves helping people. Patty has worked several years for a school district creating Braille and tactile graphics for blind and visually impaired students. It's a job she's not only very skilled in, she's incredibly passionate about it, and gives it her all.

As you can imagine, not only has Patty already racked up a lot of medical bills in the process of getting her diagnosis, but there will be many, many more as she begins treatment. Patty is a fighter, and is so determined to fight this horrible illness, but she needs to be abke to pay for her treatment in order to fight this.
If you could find it in your heart, Patty and her family would tremendously appreciate any help.
