Patty, a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and co-worker was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in Nov. 2018 which metastasized to her liver and ovaries. Patty underwent 7 surgeries and 12 rounds of chemo and was declared cancer free in Oct. 2019.  In Jan. 2020 her follow up scan showed that she had 3 metastatic lesion that were on her lungs.  Due to the tumours affecting both lungs, surgery is not an option. Her scan in March showed that two of the tumours have grown slightly.  She is currently undergoing another 12 rounds of chemo. After these rounds of chemo, there is a high chance she will have to look into different options to prolong her life expectancy. Patty is currently looking into being qualified for a clinical trial.  The blood work itself will cost her $6,000 to even determine if she is a candidate and this is most likely will not be covered by medical insurance.  She is also doing alternative medicine during her chemo treatments such as acupuncture, naturopath and massage which can limit the toxic side effects from her current chemo treatments.  Whatever you can do to help will be much appreciated. .
