My mother, Patricia Dellolio, is the most spirited, endlessly vibrant woman I know. She is funny, caring and warm, passionate about her friends, a lover of life, and so incredibly tough. In spite of the devastating circumstances, she has not lost her smile or her fight. The weight that’s been on her shoulders has been enough to level a mountain, but she keeps on standing.
She also needs your help.
In late November, Patty was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer in her brain and lungs, now also spread to her pancreas, kidney, and liver. She spent Thanksgiving in the hospital and chose to battle the disease with every fiber of strength she has - which is a *lot* - and is currently back home undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, the side effects of which have left her unable to work, barely able to move. Unfortunately, as my father has congestive heart failure, he is also unable to work, and due to their mutual hardships we have gone through their savings and their pensions.
With medical bills and debt piling up, we are unable to pay our monthly utilities and mortgage, and are at risk of losing our house. More stress atop the stress of fighting for her life is intolerable, something her doctors have told her to avoid. Due to her health and our finances, we cannot afford to move at this time; we are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
We are asking for donations to raise money for the various problems she is facing, any amount you can spare, that will be put toward keeping the house and her monthly expenses, to at least stay afloat for a few more months-- as long as we possibly can. Please, if you are able to help, know that you won’t only be keeping her safe with a roof over her head, you will be helping to save her life. It’s the greatest gift in the world we can ask for.
She passes on her love and gratitude to all of you. Thank you so much for reading this.
Sincerely,
Gabrielle Feliciano
