Patty Rozwood needs our Help!

Our mother was rushed by ambulance on September 19th to Mercy Hospital for heart failure. After having her heart shocked twice to get it back into rhythm she was feeling great and was able to talk to us over the phone. That only lasted for 2 days when she started to have trouble breathing and tested positive for covid. That call on September 22nd would be the last time we heard her sweet voice before they had to intubate her and put her into a medically induced coma. After 3 agonizingly long, stressful weeks of her on a ventilator, we got the call that she was waking up. We rushed to see her and she was able to wake up to the sound of her kids surrounding her.

However, her fight was not over yet—the source of the problem was an infection in her pacemaker. Her next challenge would be making the trip to Strong Hospital in Rochester to have her pacemaker replaced and hopefully eradicate the infection. This innocent, sweet, strong lady was determined to make it back to her family and dog.

On October 28th she underwent heart surgery to remove the pacemaker/defibrillator. With the surgery a success and another hurdle completed, Strong memorial hospital found her a spot in their acute rehab program where she worked tirelessly to get back her physical strength, speech, and cognitive memory. They pushed her to her limits and after 4 weeks she was able to come home, a few days after Thanksgiving on her birthday, November 29th.

The battle for her is still not over. She has physical therapy, occupational therapy, a new pacemaker to be put in, and medical bills piling up from hospital stays, ambulance rides, and future procedures. Our family is very overwhelmed.

Patricia is a fighter and the strongest lady we know. When she has a problem this wonderful woman will try and shoulder the burden and take the weight upon herself while never asking for help. We are asking for help for her.
