Patty Niezen

Patty Niezen has been a practicing RN in the Rogue Valley for14 years. She is a an amazing friend that we all have enjoyed working with for many years.  She is highly respected in the medical community and losing her in our practice will be a tremendous loss to the staff and to our patients.

Not only is she a wonderful nurse she's​ a loving wife and mother to a 7 year old girl and 14 year old boy.  The toll of her illness is having a dramatic effect on her family emotionally as well as finacially.

Patty has been diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus  with Anti Phospholipid Syndrome and more recently,  Chronic Inflammatory Demylenating Polyneuropathy. This disease is similar to multiple sclerosis but attacks the peripheral nerves.

These things have caused extensive damage to her body and she has experienced  dangerous blood clots and other system damage.   She has extensive neuropathy which has led to loss of sensation and function in both her arms and legs which affects her ability to walk,  keep her balance and use her arms and hands as intended.  Due to all this and the unrelenting fatigue, nerve pain and insomnia, life has changed drastically for her and her family.  Patty has been forced to resign from her teaching position at RCC and now at Advanced Aesthetics Center. 

She's taking many new medications to control the Lupus and neuropathy and is preparing to undergo immunoglobulin therapy in hopes to restore some nerve function. Not only is this very expensive but it requires many days of IV infusion for months at a time. 

We are reaching out to the community to help her and her family through this heartship.  All donations will be given to Patty and her family to go towards medical bills and loss of income.
