Patti's fight against brain cancer

On behalf of my family, I am raising funds for my Mother, Patti Pantalone. Prior to June, Patti was experiencing symptons of unexplainable numbness in her face, issues with her gait, and dizziness. On June 4th, 2023 Patti was seen in the ED where they determinded she had a tumor. She was referred to Geisinger Medical Center for further testing. The MRI and CT scans determined she had a golf ball sized tumor on her 4th ventricle, located near the pons and brain stem.

On June 16th, Patti had surgery at Geisinger Medical Center, but due to the location of the tumor the surgeon was only able to remove about 3/4 of the mass. She was in the ICU for five days and had various testing done. Tissue samples were taken for bioposy and on June 21st, our mother was diagnosed with a Stage 3 Astrocytoma, which is an uncurable brain cancer. Despite the term "uncurable" by medical standards, we know there are alternative options avaliable, which we are looking into as a family. Patti was discharged from the hospital on June 22nd and has a follow up appointment in July to discuss her plan of care more in depth. Right now Patti is unable to drive or be alone for the next 6-12 weeks.

To say our world was turned upside down is an understatement. Patti has always been very active, taking initiative with pure drive & determination in every area of life. She is strong, independent, and a force all on her own. She loves to roller skate, swim, but most importantly she loves spending time with beloved family that includes her husband Mitch, daughter, two sons, three grandchildren and five fur babies.

We are asking the community, friends, and family to pull together to help alleviate the financial strain associated with this unexpected diagnosis. Mitch is a self employed, long haul truck driver who has been by her side for the last month leaving them without an income during this unforseen time. Funds raised will allow Mitch to stay by Patti's side and ensure she has access to lifesaving therapies, medical care, daily living costs, as well as maintaing their business expenses.
