Patti Moorman House Fire Recovery

Donation protected

Hello,
I’m making this GoFundMe with the consent of the Moorman family. My name is Kristin Coggeshall and I have known the Moorman family for close to 25 years. Patti (aunt Patti to me) quickly became my second mom from the many many weekends we spent together at Saylorville Lake. Some of my first memories with Patti are on the back of the boat, I was a toddler, she would always snuggle me up in her lap, call me baby girl, and give me kisses on the cheek. Austin has been the longest friend I’ve had in my life, it started as eating Doritos and using the white headliner in the Moormans Baja boat as a napkin, to still being friends today. Later on, Anissa came into my life, she became the bigger sister I didn’t know I needed and taught me so much.
I have great memories with the Moormans in the home that was lost on 5/1/23 due to a violent man causing a devastating fire. Thankfully none of the Moormans were home at the time of the fire, their physical presence still being with us is THE MOST important piece of information to come from this, the family kitty that was presumed to be lost in the fire was also found alive and well today!
Here’s the thing about Patti, she is the strongest, most loyal, and most fearless woman I’ve ever known. I’ve seen Patti over the last several years battle things that most will never come close to in their lifetime. It holds true when they say god gives the toughest battles to those he knows can handle it. One thing I have never seen is Patti as anything other than a queen with her crown held high on her head. Being the god sent of a woman Patti is, she refuses help or won’t ask for help because she can hold her own and doesn’t usually need any help. In fact, I’m sure all of us family, friends, and loved ones will agree that Patti not only can take care of herself but she will take the shirt off of her back if it means taking care of others first. If you have had the pleasure to also know Austin, you know he will do anything in this world for his mama. The two of them have been very close for as long as I can remember. Austin being Austin has naturally started to begin talking about how he can provide for his mom during this time. If you don’t know, this is the only home Austin knows, he grew up in this home and it’s a very special place to him as well. Much like Patti, Austin will also take the shirt right off of his back to help someone in need.
It’s our turn now to help the Moorman family, the most deserving family I could ever think of. The last thing Patti or the family should need to worry about is funds. One less burden attached to the recent events will help in more ways than anyone will ever know. I’m first asking that you please consider donating to this GoFundMe, these funds will be used to support Patti in replacing her items, getting temporary housing if needed, and legal representation fees. Second, I’m asking you get this GoFundMe page out there, the power of social media and sharing things around is easily one of the most powerful tools we have right at our fingertips. Lastly, Patti owns Copperhead Saloon and Grill in Stratford, IA. You can provide additional support to her by stopping in and grabbing a bite to eat or a drink, if you are unable to do that, throw a recommendation out there to friends and family who can stop in. You can also provide support to the family by getting ahold of Austin and using his company Swift Restoration for duct, carpet, furniture, etc. cleaning. I want to thank everyone in advance on behalf of the Moorman family. I hope these funds can allow them to take time to cherish and spend time together and begin the healing process. They may not have been able to write, call, or text you back if you have contacted them but they are very thankful and are seeing everyone’s love and support.
Patti, Austin, and Anissa,
I write this with tears in my eyes, you have been the best second family to a once little girl who will forever remember the love, support at dance competitions, fun at the lake and in your home. The Coggeshall family loves you, supports you, and will forever stand behind you. You are a part of our family whether we have talked to any of you today or don’t talk for the next 10 years, we are here for you. While my heart is broken for you, if there’s one family who WILL come back from this stronger than they were before, it’s you guys.
P.S. I’ve added a picture with myself, Austin, and Patti, they may harm me for this one, but it’s on Facebook so it’s already public right? Lol.. I added it because it’s my favorite memory in their home with all of us together, I’ve also added it as an important reminder.... That night was my favorite memory with two of my favorite people, who are still here with us today, unharmed. While this is a tough loss of the family home, the important part is right in the picture, the memory, the love, the laughs, but more importantly each other, I love you guys!
