Many of you have reached out in support of the Petzold family, and asked how you can help.  This page is set up in hopes to relieve some of the financial responsibility for Patsy and her family.  With past and future medical expenses accruing, we are hopeful that as a commuity we can come together and alleviate some of their burden.  -Team Petzold
Patsy writes,
“I’m afraid it might be cancer.
I heard those words just two years and 13 days ago. I was 34.
I was living the “American Dream” life: Happily married, 3 healthy children, dream job as a high school special education teacher in the Blue Valley School District. I didn’t know a single solitary thing about colon cancer. That changed really quick.
Since my diagnosis of Stage IV colon cancer, I have had 3 surgeries, 24 rounds of chemo, and more tests and scans than I can count. There have been grueling days, but there have been even more AWESOME days.
With faith, joy, laughter, dancing, grace, trust and hope, I have pummeled through the tough times, and kicked some serious cancer booty.
I write about life as a Stage IV survivor on my caring bridge site:
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/patsypetzold  as well as my blog: hugginspatsy.com
My fight is not over. I will likely be on chemo for the rest of my life due to a rare gene mutation, which only occurs in 5-10% of patients. I will NEVER lose, though. My children will learn that when hard things happen in life, you lift up your head, stick out your chin, and move forward, trusting in the knowledge that God is in control."
