Hi Everyone!
It’s been quite a while since I hopped on here to fill you all in on what’s been going on in my life and in my recovery. With September being Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, I figured what better time than now?
I am now entering year two on my journey to recovery, and MAN has it been a journey! Looking back on the past year brings up so many different emotions for me. On one hand, it has been the most challenging year of my life. But on the other hand, it has been the year that has brought me the most meaning, the most beautiful memories, and the most appreciation for life and the people who are in it.
Back in March, my wife and I (yes, wife!) made the decision to move down to Deerfield Beach, FL for me to attend the Neurological Re-Engineering program at Barwis Methods. Over the past six months, I have been blessed to be able to work 5 days a week with the best physical therapists and strength coaches in the game. They have pushed me to be my best and do my best, and refuse to let me give up. All I can say is, Barwis has changed my life and has played a vital role in helping me regain my independence.
We would love to be able to continue down this positive road to recovery, but we can’t do this alone. The cost for this alternative form of therapy can cost upwards of $1,500 per week, and is unfortunately not covered by insurance.
Our goal is to raise $75,000 to go towards paying for another 12 months of therapy at Barwis. We need your help to contribute what you can, and if you can’t or already have, to please share this post with your social network so we can reach this goal to help support my fight against paralysis.
Thank you for all of your support and prayers ❤️
