Pat's Wish List & Stage 4 ColonCancer Fight
Donation protected
**A message from Gina:
Thank you everyone for your love and support…Pat took his last breaths at 11pm last night. While we are utterly heartbroken and miss him so very much, there is comfort that his fight is finally over and he can truly rest.
Information for services will be coming as soon as possible, but I can say it will be at least two weeks from now.
Thank you for visiting this fundraiser set up to help our brother, Patrick Williams, who has been battling Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma Colon Cancer which metastasized to his liver since 2020. He was diagnosed at age 39. Even though Pat has given this cancer every single ounce of fight that he’s had in him since day 1, he decided to be admitted into Hospice care as of August 29th. Pat’s pain levels are inhumane at this point and Hospice has the ability to manage his pain, nausea, and other symptoms on a level that his Oncology team no longer can… The cancer is just too aggressive. Pat now wants to focus his time on his family and making memories while he still can as we may be looking at just months now. We stand by him 100% and do not want him to suffer anymore.
The funds raised here will go towards Pat’s “Make a Wish” list that we’ve been working on with him – so far it includes a big family trip to the mountains in Virginia, a boat trip, and as much local fun that we can find and/or bring to him at home in Maryland. Traveling is unfortunately getting really hard for him.
Whatever funds are left over will help Gina cover the $30,000+ medical bills that have piled up over the last 3-years of treatment, and go towards Jack and Abby’s school tuition & after-school programs to help them cope with the loss they are about to endure.
For those that are new here, below is a snapshot of what this cancer battle has entailed… The CaringBridge page his wife, Gina, has kept updated throughout his entire cancer battle is also located here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/patrickwilliams2
As you can tell Patrick has been through it in the worst way and again, we thank you so sincerely for your support whether it be monetary, sharing this site with your network, or prayers.
Pat has been the biggest warrior in the last 3 whole years that he’s been fighting this… all while so courageously adapting to his new “norm”… managing pain that most of us cannot even fathom, working full-time to support his family as the sole provider of his household and ultimately saying “Yes” to every single treatment he’s been offered by his Oncology team no matter the price he’s had to pay in side effects. Since diagnosis, Pat has endured:
- 20+ rounds of Chemotherapy
- Radiation
- Liver resection surgery
- Colon resection surgery & an ileostomy for 3-months
- Surgery to reverse the ileostomy.
- A Pulmonary Embolism on both sides of his lungs and part of his heart
- Abdominal wall resection / exploratory tumor removal surgery
- A chemo bath” procedure to his entire abdominal cavity called HIPEC.
- Surgery to repair numerous hernias via implantation of mesh hammocks anchored on each side of his pelvic bone to fix this issue. Pat still to this day has daily pain in this area and bending/lifting/twisting ability for him is pretty much gone.
I want to just say THANK YOU once more to those who have helped our family and Patrick over the last few years in all ways… There truly aren’t even words to express the depths of gratitude that we feel for you and our tribe.
