My stepdad Patrick was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of bone cancer in late August 2025 and within one month, he was moved to hospice. His last physical at the end of 2024 left him in great health, with absolutely no issues on the horizon. On September 17th, we were told to say our good-byes, and we would have 2 weeks of cognitive function before he passed. Within one week of that, our family was given the option of starting him on a "miracle" drug that would allow him to stabilize enough to receive chemotherapy and beat this. My mother and him decided to start him on this drug, only to realize it costs $16,000 per month.
My stepdad Pat is the best thing that has ever happened to my mom. They found each other later in life and have built a beautiful life together over the past 12 years. They both were only able to retire in their 70s, and have been working hard to see the fruits of their long careers. He is kind, he is gentle, he watches over my mom, siblings and his grandchildren with the care of an angel. He worked his whole life delivering medical supplies to hospice and in need patients and when he retired last year, he was looking forward to being a happy little Pat.
Any money raised through this fund will go directly to helping to pay his growing medical bills and hopefully allow him to continue the medications that are saving his life.
