My Dad is such a kind and gentle person, and he is the first person to step up and offer to help when someone is in need. I think everyone who knows him knows he has always been there for his friends and family, and now in his time of need, he needs your help. In late July my Dad was feeling really unwell and went to the emergency room. Due to a number of events, he went into cardiac arrest and was without a heartbeat, and effectively dead for 18 minutes. Because my Mom was with him at the hospital, she witnessed this event and it was the scariest most traumatic experience of her life and was a devastating and heartbreaking time for our whole family. Following 2 weeks in a coma, he is facing many months of intensive therapy 7 days a week to heal and strengthen his brain to combat the extensive brain damage that occurred when his brain was without oxygen. In addition to the daily physical, occupational, and speech therapy he will be getting hyperbaric oxygen therapy to accelerate his brain function and healing.

Throughout this whole process, my Mom has been by my Dad's side devoted to taking care of him and acting as his biggest cheerleader as he progresses throughout his therapy. He is working so hard every day at improving his physical and mental abilities and he has already made amazing progress! One thing that hasn't changed is that he still has the same silly sense of humor! However, his road to recovery will be long and the therapies he needs to recover are not all covered by insurance. Any assistance you can provide to help my parents cover these expenses during this difficult time would be so appreciated! All donations will go directly to paying for my Dad's medical bills and covering his life-saving therapies. We all truly appreciate all that has been done to help my parents and my Dad in particular so far throughout this journey, and we can't thank you enough for your kindness and any donations to help during this unexpected and trying time. My Dad is such a caring person and we all can't wait for him to be back to his gentle and goofy self! Thank you again for taking the time to read about his story!
