Patriot Injured by Law Enforcement During Peaceful Protest
Donation protected
On June 14, 2025, Sergio Espejo attended a peaceful demonstration outside of Los Angeles City Hall, in protest of the current administration's immigration policy. Sergio is a real American patriot who used his First Amendment rights to peacefully express himself and speak truth to power - he was not attacking anyone, he was not threatening anyone, he was not an agitator.
Without warning or provocation, law enforcement officers began beating protestors with their batons, deploying tear gas, and launching flash grenades into the crowd. One of the flash grenades struck Sergio's hand while he was waving an American flag, mangling his index finger. A group of kind strangers helped Sergio make it to the ER, where he required a partial amputation of his finger. Sergio, unfortunately, does not have medical insurance at this time and the hospital bills are quickly racking up.
Sergio did nothing wrong. He was peaceful. He was patriotic. And now he is permanently without a piece of himself - for the crime of expressing himself and waving an American flag near City Hall. We're raising funds to help cover his medical bills, recovery, and any lost income while he heals from this traumatic event.
Any donations are appreciated and if you are unable to, please share and spread his message.
