Patrick's medical repatriation from China
Donation protected
On the 12th January this year, our brother Patrick suffered a hemorrhagic stroke whilst working as a music teacher in Shanghai. This has left Patrick in a coma for the past 6 months and has come as a huge shock to us all.
After battling pneumonia in intensive care for several months and against all odds, Patrick is now stable enough to be repatriated back to the UK and be closer to his family.
After speaking with Patrick’s medical insurance company, we have been informed that they will not cover the costs of his medical repatriation. We desperately miss Patrick and want to get him back to the UK so he can receive further medical care for his rehabilitation from the stroke.
The medical repatriation is extremely costly. The amount we need to raise is to cover the cost of a medical flight back to the UK, plus an additional amount to cover any medical costs during his stay in a private hospital, whilst he is enrolled into the NHS.
We do not know how long Patrick will remain in a coma and what long term care he will require when he wakes up, but we feel that being close to family is extremely important to help aid his recovery.
With the help and generosity of those who know and love Patrick, we hope to raise the funds necessary for his repatriation and care in the UK.
Thank you for taking the time to read Patrick’s story. We really do appreciate any help you may be able to give. Please share Patrick’s story with others.
Thank you
