On July 21, the world lost a truly loving dad, and two incredible young people lost their father far too soon.

Patrick — known to many in Peterborough as “Big Paddy” — was only 50 when he passed away, leaving behind his 17-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter, who were the absolute light of his life.

Ever calm and kind, Patrick always showed up for his kids — from coaching basketball to quiet nighttime chats. He was their biggest cheerleader, and he loved them beyond words. His passing leaves an enormous hole in their lives.

This fund is being created to carry forward what Patrick cared about most: his kids’ future.

Patrick's son is set to begin his first year at Western University this fall, and his daughter won’t be far behind. In the midst of this heartbreak, we want to make sure they have the financial support they need to pursue their dreams — without the added burden of education-related costs.

All donations — big or small — will go directly toward their post-secondary education. A dedicated account is being set up for this purpose, and funds will also be deposited into the children’s existing RESPs.

Because Jen, the kids' mom, is not yet set up to receive the funds directly, the fundraiser is currently being managed by a trusted friend who is supporting the family. Once the account is in place, all funds will be transferred accordingly. We’re committed to full transparency and will ensure every dollar is used as intended: to honour Patrick’s legacy by supporting the future of his children.
