My name is Patrick Marshall and I'm a proud Jr to my dad. He never went by "Sr." or by Pat, he was always proudly Patrick Michael Marshall. On Wednesday 03/11 my father passed away peacefully in hospice. It was an excruciating fight that nobody was prepared for, no less himself, as we all had fully accepted it was his time. His body was apparently in for one last fight though, not tired yet from a lifetime of fighting, and found incredible resilience through the suffering even as his next journey was calling for him. Through it all I sat present at his side, the only burden I was able to pay attention to is what everybody else wanted, finding my dad relief and comfort. This unfortunately did not include the presence of mind or ability to fully research after life care and now I just really need help. Cremation services are about $1500-$1800 (they can also choose not to accept DTA funds and most don't) and I burned through a significant amount of the pennies he left for me navigating the last weeks of his life. There are also big questions of feasibility of how much of his belongings I will be able to keep or even otherwise store to sell or donate later. Any help at all would go towards relieving the last burdens he left behind. Thank you.
