Patrick's Bike and Build Trip

Hi! My name is Patrick, and I made this fundraising page in an effort to raise money for a cross-country charity ride I'll be doing this summer from Virginia to Oregon. All of the money raised here will go to the Bike and Build charity, which is dedicated to creating affordable housing in communities where it is most needed.

Bike and Build's slogan is "Pedaling for Affordable Housing," which really struck a chord with me - riding for three months across the country and stopping to help build homes for low-income families and individuals seemed like an amazing way to combine my love for cycling with my desire to make a difference in the lives of others. To me, Pedaling for Affordable Housing means making sure that no family has to constantly wonder where they’ll sleep. It’s pedaling to allow people to live in the communities that are best for them and their families, instead of where housing is the absolute cheapest possible, and in the context of my life, pedaling for affordable housing means that I will have the opportunity to help thousands of people collectively in communities across the country, and that the positivity and impact that once-in-a-lifetime experiences can have no longer need to be limited to the lives of those who are having them.
