Patrick is currently in the Adult Critical Care Unit at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska being treated for a severe head injury. He fell at his annual work party and hit his head on concrete, causing a temporal skull fracture, a blood clot in his brain, and bleeding in his brain. He had surgery to remove the clot. The surgeon also removed half of the left side of his skull to relieve pressure from the swelling. It will be off for at least the next 6 weeks. It looks like Patrick will be in the hospital for several weeks, potentially longer, and once released, he will have a long road of recovery ahead of him as we do not know how his head injury will affect all aspects of his functioning, let alone ability to return to work. There are a lot of unknowns which is frightening. Currently, I am trying to spend as much time as possibly with him, however our home is over an hour away, one way. Medical bills and other household bills will sure begin to mount and the financial strain is adding to the stress we are already experiencing. We are asking for any help to cover the costs of medical and other bills, travel, gas, loss of wages, care of the children, and/or with costs of hotels to allow us to stay closer to him. Any and all help is greatly appreciated., no matter how big or how small, and it does not necessarily need to be monetary. We love and appreciate you all!! Thank you for all of your love and support!! Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
