Patrick Belem's first album

The time has finally come to make this dream happen of sharing my compositions with the world. It has been many years of immersions and experiences around the globe in different environments and cultures and all that is reflected in these songs. The strength they carry has opened many doors in various countries and in different indigenous lands, especially within the medicine circles.
THE ALBUM
The proposal is to invite two or three musicians to undergo a 15-day immersion in the inspiring Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, a country that welcomed me for 2 years. From this immersion, 13 tracks will be recorded, each with different rhythms, instruments, and voices, featuring various guest musicians from Brazil and around the world. In addition to recording the full presentation of the album launch, and a music video.

THE ARTIST
Brazilian journalist, filmmaker, and musician, Patrick is descending from a family of musicians and mediums related to the African Brazilian traditions. His music reflect this fusion between the Indigenous and all these other Brazilian influences.
For the last 7 years Patrick has been working on Eskawatã Kayawai, a documentary that tells the story of the Huni Kuin people from the Humaitá river and traveling supporting ceremonies, tours, holding space, sharing his music and learning from these sacred traditions.
THE STORY BEHIND IT
Since I was young, I've been deeply connected with music and spirituality in parallel. Surrounded by the presence of my musician uncles and cousins playing together at every family gathering, samba circles, or the band Samuríndios that I later formed with other friends from Curitiba, my hometown. At eighteen, ayahuasca entered my life, completely revolutionizing my relationship with life, my internal relationship with myself, and with art as a means of expressing the my deepest parts.
Growing up in my grandmother's spiritual center and seeing my entire family working there, I always had numerous doubts about everything involved in this universe, about the relationship with spiritual entities, their forces, and all the mystery contained there. Then, medicine finally confirmed the existence of the invisible side of life. That's when I started composing, bringing together these two worlds, receiving different prayers, celebrating, and honoring these beings, these different energies, and their work and manifestations here on Earth.
