Happy Holidays! I am writing you all to tell you about my upcoming trip to Ethiopia at the end of the month. As some of you may already know, I have been working with Ethiopian psychologists, teachers, doctors, and parents of children with autism. While in Ethiopia I will be conducting free trainings in Applied Behavior Analysis, as it is the most beneficial and cost effective means of treating autism.
While in Ethiopia this December and January I will begin developing the team of Ethiopian psychologists that will assist me in conducting my research and carrying out the new training programs.
Through my work there I hope to significantly improve the methods in which teachers, psychologists, and orphanage volunteers treat children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Since I am funding this entire project by myself, I am looking for any financial support to aid me the following:
-Transportation Costs To Ethiopia & Around Addis Ababa
-Domestic Transportation Costs For Some of Our Ethiopian Students
-Teaching/Training Materials I must Purchase In Ethiopia
-Fees For Training Sites That I will be Leasing
-Rental Fees for Projectors and Computers
-Some Lodging Costs While in Transit
I will be departing the United States on Christmas Day, and therefore I am reaching out for any support or advice I can receive. Any support will be justly carried out as I look to improve the lives of children and adults living with autism in Ethiopia. If this model is a success, it may open many other doors for replicating the program in other African nations.
