Today, with heavy hearts, we want to say goodbye to a man who was, quite simply, the light in every room he entered. Patrick Usalla was more than just a colleague or a friend; he was a force of kindness, hard work, and unshakeable positivity. While we struggle to understand why he was taken from us so soon, we gather to celebrate the incredible life he lived and the love he left behind.
Patrick was the definition of a "great individual." Whether at work or in his personal life, he was known for his tireless work ethic and his constant smile. He didn’t just do his job; he did it with a spirit of service, always looking for ways to help others. He had that rare kind of personality that made everyone feel seen and valued. To know Patrick was to love him.
As much as he gave to his friends and colleagues, Patrick’s heart belonged first and foremost to his family. He was a devoted husband to Necy and an amazing son. But perhaps his greatest pride was being a father to his two daughters.
He wanted nothing more than to see his girls succeed in life. He dreamt of watching them excel in their own right, especially on the basketball court. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his family, whether they were trying out new cuisines together or cheering on the Raptors live at a game. He lived for those moments of connection.
Patrick’s energy was infectious, especially when it came to sports. He was a true fan of the game, a lover of basketball, and someone who found joy in the simple pleasures—like a good meal and the thrill of a live game. He taught us that life is meant to be enjoyed, shared, and played with heart.
In the wake of this tragic accident, we are left with questions we cannot answer. We do not understand why he was taken, but we find a small measure of peace in the thought that perhaps God has a different plan for him.
Today, we pray for Necy, his daughters, and his entire family. We ask for God to shower them with the strength and blessings they need to navigate this unimaginable time.
Patrick, you will be forever remembered in our hearts. Your smile, your kindness, and your dedication to those you loved will be our guide. To the Usalla family: please know that we stand with you, we support you, and we offer our deepest condolences.
Rest in peace, Patrick. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
