Patrick & Tina: lose family house and possessions

5-10 minutes is all you have to pack up your grandkids, animals, and family memories and leave not knowing what your coming back to.

Patrick and Tina, Tina’s mother, their kids, and their grandkids have honestly lost everything except the clothes they were wearing in the Lytton fire. This disaster comes within weeks of trauma and loss of family members a sister of Tina and the wife of their son Anthony, as well and the announcement of hundreds of children buried on the grounds of residential schools.

Patrick the chief of Kanaka Bar band was at work, around 20 mins from the town of Lytton when he got the call from his wife that they needed to evacuate with no time to spare.

Tina a traditional medicine gatherer, grandmother, preservation artist had no time to grab anything but a handful of personal items her mother who is facing health issues and grandkids.

Anthony, who had recently lost his wife has been left with 3 young children and now another hit of tragedy. ..

and Serena and Fernando. 9 months pregnant with her first child the stress has kicked in and she is now in the early start of labour.

This travesty has left the loss of pets, vehicles, years of memories in a house hold that had recently been upgraded. A family who is in need. And a community that will literally need to be rebuilt from scratch.
