This past April, our brother Pat McGrane contacted our family with terrible news.  He shared that after suffering from back pain for months,  he finally got checked out by a doctor and after several rounds of testing, Pat was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer; he's 51 years old.  As you would imagine the initial news was devastating with a severely grim outlook.  But in typical 'easy-going' Pat style, he said that he planned to face this fight head on, follow doctors orders, talk to our Dad in heaven and fight this with everything he had.  He was the coolest customer in the room  - amazing us all. To our huge relief, after even more testing, the doctors gave us hope and  feel there is a solid plan for Pat to beat this and live a normal life- simply a miracle.  His medical team is putting him on hormone therapy for a month to stop the growth of the cancer, then attack the remaining cancer with chemotherapy May through October.  Once completed, the doctors truly feel that  with ongoing medical visits, Pat can lead a normal life and "be around 10, 15, 20 years"... modern medicine is simply amazing.  With that being said, Pat has the fight of his life this summer.  He currently works in Madison at an amazing restaurant named "Graft" ; they have been so supportive in countless ways to him.  However as to be expected, the doctors said that he will be unable to work during chemo as he'll be too weak, thus he'll have no income.  Pat isn't married and has taken care of himself his whole life. He is taking advantage of all resources available as Madison is so amazing in the social programs that they offer. 

We as his family are helping as much as we can, but we are also setting up this 'gofundme account' to help Pat face this battle.    Any monetary help that was considered would go directly towards Pat's rent, car payments, food for him and his 2 pitties (the loves of his life) and his growing medical bills. Pat's only priority is to tackle and beat this diagnosis... and be in remission  by fall. He wants to go back to his job and his life ~ having persevered.
